When snowflakes dance on winter winds
And colored lights shine Christmas cheer,
When children's laughter fills the air
And family gathers from far and near,
I try to celebrate with them
And not let my hurting show,
But the empty spaces within my heart,
At this season, seems to grow
'Till oftentimes it fills the days
And many nighttimes too,
With aching thoughts and memories
Of Christmases I spent with you.
Yes, memories do hurt, it's true
But I have this feeling too.
I'm so glad I hold these memories,
For with them I hold part of you.
So for now I'll wipe away the tears
And join with loved ones dear
To celebrate this Christmas time,
For I know that, in my heart, you're here.

Dear Father who art in Heaven...
Please join our family on this Christmas day
And bless each one as we sit down to pray
As we remember those who have joined You above
So dearly missed and deeply loved.
Please provide us strength on this Christmas day
Bless us with memories of those faraway...
Please grant patience to family and friends as we grieve
And help us reach out to others who are bereaved.
We give thanks to You on this Christmas day....
For Your presence in our lives each and everyday.
For Your comfort, guidance, and never ending love...
And for taking care of our loved ones...in Heaven above.
As we light this candle on this Christmas day...
And it glows in memory of those in Heaven today....
May their lights always shine down on us and give us light...
And may we feel their presence along with Yours tonight.
May the peace and tranquility of this Christmas day
Be an everlasting light within each of us along the way...
Lets bow our heads and give our Thanks to God above..
For our blessings, whether on earth or in Heaven above...

Isn't it funny what the power of love can do?
It can speed up time or stop it to.
It can make you sad with each passing day,
If one you loved has passed away.
But true love will never die,
And when you've lost that loved one, you mourn and cry.
But if you know where they are going and where they'll be,
Then let a smile take over where the tears should be.
It's hard to accept it through the hurt and pain
To know your life now, will never be the same.
And if only heaven wasn't so far away,
You would pack your bags and go visit for a day.
You are so thankful for the good times you shared,
But cry with the hope that they knew you cared.
You say a pray that when your days are through:
" I will make it back home to you and
I hope that I will be worthy to see,
the angel on earth that God shared with me."
